Walt Disney World Offering Monthly Payment Plans for Annual Passes

Joining the ranks of competing theme parks, Walt Disney World has just introduced a monthly payment program for the park’s annual passes. Plans allowing a park-goer to make monthly payments for an annual pass seem to be a sure-fire way to increase park turnout, especially when faced with declining ticket sales and park attendance.

Currently, the monthly payment plan is available only to those who purchases a new Florida resident pass, which is exclusively sold online. However, Disney plans to offer this payment program at park gates shortly.

Florida residents can purchase an annual pass using the monthly payment plan by making a down payment equal to a one day – one park pass priced at $84.14 (for ages 10 and up). After the first downpayment is made, a monthly amount will be automatically billed to a credit card. This means that instead of having to spend $392 all at once, a guest can spread the cost of an annual pass over the corse of 12 months – a much easier and cost-effective option for theme park goers on a budget.

Other Florida theme parks have been offering similar payment plans for quite some time. Walt Disney World is hopping on the pay-over-12-months band wagon in hopes of increasing the amount of annual pass holders and guests.

Disneyland, Disney’s branch in Southern California, has been participating in the monthly payment program since December of 2008, reporting an increase in annual pass holders to almost 1 million since the program’s launch.

The Annual Pass provides access to all four parks, including Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot.
